How to get your Google review link
Find your Google review link in a couple of clicks, shorten it, turn it into a QR code, and put it where customers will actually use it.
Your Google review link opens the review box for your business directly, with no searching. Find it in Google Business Profile under “Ask for reviews”, or from your listing in Search. Copy it once, shorten it, and put it wherever you actually meet customers.
Where to find it
From Google Business Profile
- Sign in to the Google account that manages the business.
- Search your business name in Google, or open Google Business Profile.
- Find Ask for reviews in the profile controls.
- Copy the short link Google generates.
From your listing
If you do not manage the profile, you can still reach the same place: open your business listing, go to the reviews, choose to write a review, and copy the URL from the address bar. It is longer and uglier than the short link, but it goes to the same box.
Why the link matters more than it sounds
Every step between a willing customer and the review box loses people. Asked to “find us on Google and leave a review”, a customer has to search, pick the right listing from several, scroll to reviews, and start typing, and a meaningful share drop out somewhere in there, having genuinely intended to help.
The link removes all of it. One tap, straight into the box, with the business already selected. Nothing else you do to increase review volume is as cheap as this.
Where to put it
- In a text message after a job or appointment, the highest-converting channel for most trades and clinics.
- In your email footer, and in the confirmation email after a purchase.
- As a QR code on receipts, table tents, packaging or a counter card.
- On an NFC card at the till, where a tap beats a scan.
- In your booking confirmations, if the software allows a custom line.
Send the same link to every customer. Routing people to different destinations based on how happy they seem is review gating. It breaches Google’s policy and FTC guidance, whatever the tool selling it calls the feature.
Make it easier to use
Shorten it if you are printing or reading it aloud. Turn it into a QR code for anywhere physical. And if you are sending it by hand each time, that is the point at which it is worth firing the request automatically off a completed job or appointment instead. Manual sending is what stops happening in a busy week.
Frequently asked questions
How do I create a Google review link?
You do not create it. Google generates it for your business. Find it under “Ask for reviews” in your Google Business Profile, or copy the URL from the review box on your listing.
Can I shorten my Google review link?
Google’s own “Ask for reviews” option already gives you a short form. You can shorten it further with any link shortener if you need something readable on print.
Does the link work if the customer isn’t signed in?
They will be prompted to sign in to a Google account before posting, since reviews cannot be left anonymously. The link still takes them to the right place.
Can I use the same link across every channel?
Yes, and you should. One destination for everyone keeps collection compliant and makes the results easier to read.
Why do some customers land on the wrong business?
Usually because they searched rather than used the link, and picked a similarly named listing, which is common for multi-location businesses. Sending the direct link removes the ambiguity entirely.
